Melanie Jayne Chisholm, born 12th January 1974, known as ‘Sporty Spice’ was born in Whitston, Merseyside. Melanie has been part of the group since 1994 and is known for her unique vocal prowess that helped shoot the band to stardom. / She began her solo career in 1998 by singing with Canadian Rock singer Bryan Adams on the track ‘When You’re Gone’. Melanie’s multi-platinum selling debut solo album ‘Northern Star’ was released in 1999. Melanie’s second album ‘Reason’ in 2003 was the last to be released by Virgin Records. Melanie’s third album ‘Beautiful Intentions’ was the first album to be released under her own label ‘Red Girl Records’ in 2005, along with ‘This Time’, ‘The Sea’, ‘Stages’ and ‘Version of Me’.
